I’m Jim Wood, the proud owner of Klean DryZ

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

On May 15, 2008, I was monitoring the performance of a type of carpet or upholstery cleaning service through a franchise, and I was very impressed with the hot carbonated method as opposed to the others. After working for five years in the cleaning business, in May 2013, the franchise setup shifted head operations to the USA, so I decided the best way to serve the Algoma area was through my own operation. Thus, Klean DryZ was formed. I named it using the initial letters of my kids’ first names - Alex, Kate, and Zac. Also, slipped Dad in there!

My thirteen years of cleaning and studying new products and methods, relying on my previous background in producing and dying wood pulp fibers as well as several training courses in carpet and upholstery cleaning, have made my business more versatile and effective.

As the sole owner or operator, I make it a priority to attend every job to ensure the best product is put forward to the customer base. Also, if you have a concern or issue and want to talk to the owner about it, I will be right here to assist you. 

I believe it is our business values and philosophy that have contributed most to our success. I do not go into a job trying to extract as much profit as possible, but I attempt to create lasting relationships with my clients that offer us “repeat business” and “satisfied happy customers”! Also, I do not keep pushing higher prices on my customer base, especially with the increase in taxes. Instead, I work hard to find ways to control costs to ensure pricing remains the same. I am pleased to say that I have not raised my prices in over three years!

The most enjoyable part of this job is meeting people, their pets, and also putting my best effort forward each day and earning that rewarding feeling of doing a solid, reliable, and repeatable performance. But nothing compares to the feeling of getting a call from a new customer to book some work and them stating, “you did work for my neighbor, and they highly recommend you.” My referral rate is now over forty-five percent of my new business.

When I am not serving my clients, my escape has been to the countryside where I spend most of my time fishing. I’m also big on DIY projects around the homestead. I also donate time and money to causes that are important to me.
